Lacing a Corset & Waist Training

Start by putting the lacing tips downward into the first set of grommets as shown.  Begin lacing in a criss cross fashion by lacing over, then under.  Repeat this pattern until you reach the center of the corset (the waistline).

At the waistline create quite a bit of slack to make the puller loops as shown in step #2.  Leaving the puller loops at the center, continue lacing with the remainder of cording to the bottom of the corset in the same over and under pattern.

Once you reach the bottom, tie a small knot at the very end of the cording as shown in step #3.  You should be left with two long puller loops at the waist, which allow one to open the corset very wide and loose to put on easily.

Once on and fastened in the front, use puller loops to cinch in the top and bottom of the corset to a comfortable snug fit, then tie off loops in a bow (as shown in step #4) or tuck under grommets.

How To Put A Corset On:

STEP #1

Waist Training:

Proper Waist training is a practice whereas one can gradually achieve realistic, non-harmful waist reduction or waist shaping by moderately lacing and wearing a corset on a regular basis.  For effective waist training results, it's imperative that one selects the right style corset, eats healthy and follows an exercise regimen during their waist training.  We recommend this be done with a smooth under bust style corset that fully covers the tummy, without going too far over the hips.  You want the focus of compression to be at the waist line.  Overbust styles are effective as well, but full overbust styles can be too restrictive, and may be uncomfortable for hours of waist training on a daily basis.

Tightening the Corset:  It's very important to go slow while corseting.  We would recommend tightening your corset once it is broken in and more conformed to your body.  Tightening too quickly can damage the stitching and fabric and/or be uncomfortable, causing one to feel negative towards corseting.  Breaking in a new corset can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on how often one wears their corset.  Individuals need to use their best judgment and do what feels comfortable for them.

Training Down:  If one is able to lace their corset completely closed, the corseted waist would be 28 inches with the corset on.  If one wants permanent waist reduction (28 inch waist with the corset off), then a corset training program must be followed.  A true commitment to figure sculpting, body modification and waist-reduction tends to involve 3 things - exercising, a healthy diet, and a corseting plan.  This plan would consist of specific, consistent, weekly corseting goals.  That is, committing to wearing the corset for a certain number of hours per day.  Doing these 3 things can produce lasting results.  Every individual is different.  Many variables including body type, lifestyle, and corset discipline can affect results.

Waist reduction must be done slowly.  After a month or two of wearing the corset fully closed, one can reduce their waist further by graduating to the next smaller size.  It’s recommended that after the initial waist reduction, one should reduce by a maximum of no more than 1 inch every six months.

*Before engaging in any waist training program, we highly recommend consulting with ones physician regarding any body support garments, dietary change, or exercise program.  We bear no responsibility for the misuse of any of our products.

First loosen the lacing at the back until there is a gap of about 6-8 inches.  Put the corset around you.

STEP #2

Once the corset is in place, fasten the front busk; do the top clasp first and the rest should follow.

STEP #3

Reaching around back, pull the loops gently then tighten the lacing progressively towards the middle from both top and bottom until you are happy with the shape and fit.  There should be a pleasant snug feeling, but you should still be very comfortable.

STEP #4

To finish, tie the ends in a bow at back or front.

*Important: One should not try to lace the corset closed, or even very tightly on the first several wearings. Corsets need "breaking in time".  After a short period of time, they mold to your body shape and the material takes the strain of waist reduction evenly.  Placing too much pressure on the corset at the outset may damage the fabric and stitching.  Additionally, it may cause you discomfort and a negative feeling toward your beautiful new garment.
